SimpleSpread
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
SimpleSpread, for Mac and iPad, doesn’t collect any information about you or your spreadsheets.
- There’s no account to create and no sign-in.
- There are no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
- Your spreadsheets are opened and saved only where you choose: on your device, or in cloud storage you already use, such as iCloud Drive. We never see them.
- The app keeps its own settings, such as your recent files, on your device.
The App Store version
The version from the App Store, on Mac and on iPad, never connects to the internet. Apple handles your purchase and updates. Apple’s privacy policy covers that, and we don’t receive your personal details from it.
The version from GitHub
The free Mac version downloaded from GitHub checks for updates. To do that it downloads a list of releases from github.com, and GitHub receives your IP address and the app’s version, as with any web request. You can turn automatic checks off in the SimpleSpread menu. GitHub’s privacy statement applies to that request.
When you contact us
If you use the support form or email us, we receive what you send: your email address, your name if you give it, and your message. We use it only to answer you, and we keep it in our email so we can follow up on the same problem. We don’t add you to a mailing list or share it with anyone. The form is delivered by Amazon Web Services, which hosts this website. To have your messages deleted, ask through the support form.
Children
SimpleSpread collects no information from anyone, including children.
